Our sweet girl Maggie has been waiting a full year for her forever home, life at the cat cafe has become increasingly overwhelming for her.
She is urgently in need of a foster or better yet an adopter!
Adoption fee is reduced to $50.00.
She is a sweet girl with some typical torti sass. She’d do best in a home without young children and either as the only cat or with a relaxed older cat.

Psst, have you heard the news? Waived Fee Wednesdays have been extended!
Now through September 24, adoption fees are waived every Wednesday for most animals one year or older at the SPCA Serving Erie County.
That means even more chances to meet your perfect match — and bring them home without the adoption fee.
It’s the paw-fect time to find your new best friend!

Unfortunately, these changes are impacting the rescue community as a whole.
We currently owe $2,400 to RCAC that we have been unable to pay off. Due to lack of spay/neuter resources we had to close intake several months ago and these price changes are the final nail in the coffin.
We are desperate for donations to help us pay off our outstanding balance plus $1,000 that we owe in credit card balances.
With intake closed we have not been able to generate donations or adoption fees.
All the cats still in our care are very shy and available at a reduced or waived fee. Please consider adopting!
We are going to reevaluate next year to get up and going again.

Hey everyone,
We want to share an important update about a new challenge we’re facing—and how you can help us continue saving lives.
Recently, our long-time vetting partner, Rochester Community Animal Clinic, announced a significant price increase for their spay/neuter and vaccination services. While we understand the rising costs that veterinary clinics face, these hikes have real and heartbreaking consequences for cats in our community:
🐾 Higher costs mean fewer pets get altered. When spay/neuter fees go up, many owners skip those crucial procedures, which directly lowers the probability that cats will be vetted.
🐾 Unaltered cats often end up homeless. Intact females can become pregnant quickly, and unneutered males are more prone to fighting and marking—behaviors that lead to abandonment or rehoming.
🐾 Overpopulation spirals out of control. Every intact female contributes to more litters, and each new kitten adds to the struggle for space and resources in already overcrowded shelters.
🐾 Kittens suffer and die without homes or affordable care. With so many without families and limited access to low-cost vetting, countless young lives are lost.
🐾 Rescues will have to limit intakes. With vetting costs climbing, rescues like ours are forced to say “no” more often. That leaves desperate owners with nowhere to turn, and those cats often end up on the streets. Most rescues are already full, and the city shelter is drowning in cats, too. There is simply nowhere for them to go.
🐾 Rescues are forced to raise adoption fees. To absorb these higher vet bills, organizations like ours may need to increase our fees—making it even harder for deserving cats to find their forever homes.
🐾 Rescuers are burnt out. The problem gets worse every day and there’s no end in sight. Many rescues are either taking breaks or shutting down due to the lack of affordable and reliable vet care.
In effect, these price hikes at Rochester Community Animal Clinic aren’t just a number on a bill—they’re contributing to the very overpopulation crisis we’re all trying to solve.
That’s why we are asking for your help. If you can, please consider making a donation to our spay/neuter fund. Your gift will help cover these increased costs so that we can keep rescuing, vetting, and rehoming cats—without passing more fees on to adopters or letting another kitten slip through the cracks.
🙏 Please donate below to support affordable, life-saving vet care for our community cats. Every dollar makes a difference!

Thank you for standing with us—and with the cats who need you most.
Note: it is unclear if the prices below are for low income families or for rescue partners. However, below is what was sent to all local rescues… For reference, cat neuters were $66 and spays were $90 for rescues… 😬

Meet Dilly & Dally!
This brother-sister duo are looking for a quiet home to settle into with someone who has patience. They are friendly and have settled in well to their foster home but still currently tolerate very little touch. They do well with other cats. Would not do well with children or dogs.
We are looking for a quiet home that doesn’t mind their independent spirits and will give them all the time they need to settle in and bond with their new family. They have made great progress in their current foster home in just a couple months so we know they have it in them to bond with a forever family.
Both cats are spayed/neutered and vaccinated.
They’re estimated to be about 10 months old.
Adoption fee reduced for the right home.
