This is the second time a kitchen I designed has been mentioned in a home’s real estate listing.
What I love most about this project is that the homeowner waited years for the chance to buy this remarkable mid-century modern house.
When the opportunity finally came, we leaned into the spirit of the architecture. The laminate cabinetry—finished in a palette of iconic mid-century colors—became less about storage and more about composition.
Good houses tell stories. It’s gratifying when a kitchen becomes part of one.

Not every moment in a home needs to be announced.
Sometimes it’s a small corner at a stair landing, where soft light settles across the steps and the air seems to pause between floors. A cabinet with a warm, timeworn surface offers a welcoming place for a lamp, its glow casting gentle shadows across the wall. A painting rests within easy reach rather than hanging high above, inviting a closer look at its layered colors and subtle textures. A chair waits patiently for an extra guest, its curved silhouette and worn seat suggesting countless quiet conversations.
Individually, none of these pieces ldemand attention. Together, they create something else entirely.
I’ve always believed that the spaces between the main events deserve just as much consideration as the rooms themselves. These quieter moments bring a sense of completeness to a home. They invite you to slow down, look a little closer, and discover details that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Viewed through the lens of a camera, this corner feels almost like a still life painting—balanced, intimate, and quietly composed.
