RIT University/Community Partnerships

The “Field to Table Project” is a collaboration in its 9th year with the residents from Marketview Heights Collective Action Project and RIT-UCP. This summer they are conducting a community-based participatory research project of the Children’s Garden. Findings of this active research will be presented at the RIT Undergraduate Symposium.

Amanda, 4th Yr. Psychology major is working with Martin and the Marketview Heights Collective Action Project on the Field to Table Project. In its 8th season, this project partners RIT students with adult and teen residents as the leadership team to teach children and their families where there food comes from, gardening skills, nutrition, physical activity and creativity. The large variety of pesticide-free food grown is reflective of the diverse community that has resided in South Marketview Heights.
