Max Mekker, a business major who studied abroad in Australia, shares three things travel has taught him in his recent study abroad blog post.

“Travel enhances confidence, independence, and freedom. It has shown me that I can navigate a foreign country, make new friends, and deal with challenging situations. I found out how much I know/don't know about the world. I was able to observe how I reacted in entirely new situations. When you realize how powerful you are, traveling becomes a transformative experience. ”

Finding Yourself in the Wrong Place | RIT Global 04/26/2024

Ryan Noyes a Software Engineering/Japanese Language double major who studied abroad in Kyoto, Japan shares how sometimes getting lost can lead you to somewhere great in his recent study abroad blog post.

“My mistake, instead of turning into a disaster, led me to what became one of my favorite spots during my stay in Japan. I stepped out into the town and found a quiet slice of Japanese life. Making my way to the second-hand shop, I passed much of what makes the smaller towns of Japan a beautiful place to be. This spot would be one I would return to quite often. ”

Rose Crisman, an Advertising and PR major who studied abroad in France in Summer 2023, shares her favorite places to eat and visit in France in her recent study abroad blog post.

“One of the highlights of my program was exploring the many different places to eat in France. I discovered some truly amazing restaurants that I will always remember. However, what really stood out to me were the other locations I visited that were even more interesting than the famous Eiffel Tower. Being able to experience the culture and see the history I was learning about in class firsthand was an incredible privilege that I will always cherish."
