While each project has different goals, the most successful spaces have one thing in common: they are designed around the people who use them.

Great design begins with understanding how people move through a space, interact with one another, complete their work, learn, gather, collaborate, and connect. When design responds to those behaviors, spaces become more intuitive, more functional, and more meaningful.

We’re honored to share that Edge Architecture has received a 2026 AIA Rochester Design Award for Community Impact for the Bond Hamilton Townhouses project.

Developed in partnership with the Rochester Housing Authority, Bond Hamilton reimagines affordable housing by creating six ADA-accessible townhomes that blend seamlessly into Rochester’s South Wedge neighborhood. The design reflects a simple but powerful belief: quality housing should foster dignity, connection, and a sense of belonging.

By drawing inspiration from the surrounding historic streetscape and prioritizing both accessibility and neighborhood integration, the project helps advance RHA’s mission to “Change the Face of Public Housing.” The result is more than a housing development—it is a place designed to strengthen community and create opportunities for meaningful connection.
