Our shop wouldn't and couldn't exist without our incredible team of individuals who know what it means to give their best, utilize their own gifts & strengths, and work & grow together as a team, and giving their all to serve each other & our amazing customers...

As you probably already know, Tree Town is located in the town of Brighton, NY in neighboring town of Penfield, right on Old Penfield Road and Colonial Village (and yes, we have a sandwich named after both those streets 😉 🥪.)

What you may not know, is there is not a safe way to get from one side of the street to the other, when crossing the road. 🚶‍♂️

As owners, we also currently live in the Tree Town neighborhood, but I (Jenna) have lived in this area my entire life. As a kid, my parents would always walk us over to what was formerly Bernunzios Deli to get some penny candy & a cold summer popsicle. ☀️. Now having kids we would love to let them walk over to our own shop but there's always a risk.

As it was then, it is still today...there is no safe way to "get to the other side" as you cross Old Penfield Road. Sometimes it really did, and still does, feel like the game of chicken... hoping to actually dodge fast moving cars as they fly past. Sadly last year a young man on a bike was actually hit by a car. I'm not sure of the details, but I do know it was right across the street from our shop, and while he seemed to be ok, it was very scary.

Our neighborhood is filled with young families, and active citizens who are out and about all the time- biking, walking their dogs, visiting our shop, heading to the neighboring hiking trails, walking their kids to school, moms walking with strollers while holding the hands of little ones in tow. There is currently not a single crosswalk on the very busy county road (Penfield Road), nor has there ever been... even since we as kids walked to the beloved Bernunzios Deli. 🚲 🚶‍♂️🏃‍♀️

While we are not the creators of the petition, we are in full support of it, & would love as much support as possible to help make the change & increase the safety sureounding our little neighborhood cafe. ❤️
