Great work done by Friends of the Rouge! We are grateful to be a part of the permanent protection of the property within the Rouge river watershed that many fish species call their home!

Today we celebrate a conservation win! On Tuesday, Paul Tomboulian signed a conservation easement with Six Rivers to protect the beautiful forest and creek on his Oakland Township property. Located just across the road from another Six Rivers conservation easement at Bear Creek Nature Park, the new easement means an even larger natural area to provide habitat for the for generations to come.

There's another reason this one's special. Alice Tomboulian, Paul's late wife, was a founding member of Six Rivers way back when it was Oakland Land Conservancy. We are grateful beyond words for her and Paul's dedication to protecting the nature of Southeast Michigan, and we are honored to protect the land they love forevermore.
