Every child deserves a home that is safe to grow up in.
But across Michigan, thousands of homes built before 1978 still contain lead hazards in paint, dust, and plumbing. Even small amounts of lead exposure can cause serious health problems, especially for children. 
That is why this GoFundMe campaign was created:
to help create lead-safe homes in Michigan and protect families from preventable exposure.
Lead removal and abatement can be expensive, and many families simply cannot afford the work needed to make their homes safe. Programs exist, but they often require homeowners to contribute to the cost or cover additional repairs not included in assistance programs. 
This campaign is about coming together as a community to make homes healthier, safer, and stronger for Michigan families.
