Join us Thursday, April 23, from 7:00–8:30 p.m. for an evening with RIT/NTID alum and internationally recognized artist Christine Sun Kim, part of NTID’s Edmund Lyon Memorial Lectureship Series at the RIT Performing Arts Center.

Kim, an American artist based in Berlin, explores how sound operates in society, examining the politics of sound and how spoken and signed languages function as social currency. Working across drawing, performance, video, and large-scale murals, her work reflects language, environment, and lived experience.

Her work has been featured internationally, including the Whitney Museum of American Art (2025), Gwangju Biennale (2023), Secession Vienna (2023), Queens Museum (2022), the Drawing Center (2022), Museum für Moderne Kunst (2021), and Manchester International Festival.

Admission is free and open to the public; registration is required. Interpreting services have been requested.

ADONIA K. SMITH: From GSD to NTID: A deaf Latina trailblazer 03/13/2026

Jacquline “Jackie” Williams, an RIT/NTID alum, is featured in a recent column by Adonia K. Smith highlighting her journey from the Georgia School for the Deaf to NTID and beyond.

The story shares Jackie’s experiences growing up Deaf in a multicultural family, finding community through ASL at GSD and NTID, and her goal of becoming an international teacher in Deaf schools around the world.
