Here's what the timing means practically:

First, if you source product from import-dependent categories, talk to your procurement team this week about what a sudden duty increase does to landed cost.

Second, if you have carrier contracts up for renewal, locking in rates before a cost-pressure spike is basic risk management right now.

Third, know where your freight actually crosses. Some food lanes have cross-border exposure that shippers don't fully map until a compliance change forces the question.
