September is Hunger Action Month and today is National Hunger Action Day.

As an Associate Board Member of the Northern Illinois Food Bank, I am raising awareness of neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Is it someone you know? It’s hard to imagine not knowing where your next meal is coming from. Northern Illinois Food Bank has a network of 900 member agencies and programs in 13 Illinois counties serving more than 80 million meals a year! There are a variety of volunteer opportunities in four locations or within the communities the Food Bank serves. Can I challenge everyone to consider a volunteer shift before the end of the year?
