We enjoyed another session of Heart Matters @ Truth Tabernacle Ministries. Tonight was Chef’s choice for the menu and we provided an entire 3 course meal, focusing on portion control using “The Plate Method” as well as low sodium dishes:
Appetizer: (Not pictured, it was gone quick🤣)
Spinach dip w homemade bread chips
(Sautee spinach, add 1 pack of reg or fat free cream cheese, light whipping cream, sharpe cheddar and white sharpe cheddar, season w Himalayan sea salt, black pepper, and garlic powder, let simmer and serve w pita chips or make your own)
House salad (not pictured🤣)
w Fuji apples, croutons, romaine and spring mix, walnuts and pecan
Dressing: Skinny Girl Raspberry Vinegrette, Brianna’s Balsamic Vinegrette (low sodium and low sugar) made with avocado oil
Main Dish:
Brown rice (use rice cooker🥳)
Sautéed veggies (mushrooms, carrots, brocolli, peppers, kale, you can add whatever vegetable you like and cook in a wok with grapeseed oil or light extra virgin olive oil, season w low sodium soy sauce OR liquid amino (do not do both) garlic powder, onion powder, bay leaf, oregano and let simmer for about 7 minutes (make sure that your veggies are still vibrant in color, do not over cook)
