Rising 6th Grade Transition Day – August 14, 2026
Edgecombe County Public Schools invites all rising 6th-grade students and their families to attend our Grade 6 Transition Day on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at each middle school.

Transition activities help students build confidence, reduce anxiety, and prepare for a successful start to middle school. During the event, students will have the opportunity to tour the school, meet teachers and staff, learn about expectations, participate in team-building activities, and become familiar with middle school routines.

Parents will also participate in an orientation session to learn about academic expectations, student supports, and ways to partner with the school for a successful transition.

🎒✨ Mark your calendars for the NCPS Back to School Festival!

Join Nash County Public Schools on Thursday, July 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nash Community College’s Brown Auditorium as we prepare to shine brighter together for the 2026-2027 school year!

Families can enjoy games, door prizes, a petting zoo, food vendors, educational support, local community agencies, and free slushies or ice cream for the first 300 people. Parents and rising seniors will also have the opportunity to connect with local colleges and universities.
