🥞 🇺🇸 Nothing says Memorial Day weekend quite like the NEBCO Fire-EMS Pancake Breakfast. Loaded up the whole crew this morning and made our way out to one of my favorite corners of District 7.

The kids had an absolute blast, the food was great, and the company was even better. These are the kinds of community traditions that remind me why I love my home and why it’s the greatest place to live, work and raise a family.

Grateful for everyone in NEBCO who puts this event together year after year. Happy Memorial Day and thanks to all that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Great day at the Arkansas Public School Resource Center 2026 Spark Symposium in North Little Rock. I was privileged to sit on the legislative panel and spend time with charter school administrators, principals, educators, staff, supporters, and vendors from across Arkansas. We had a really good conversations about the 2026 fiscal session and what’s ahead in the 96th General Assembly. Charter schools are doing important work for Arkansas families, and I always appreciate the chance to hear directly from the people on the ground making it happen. Thanks to APSRC for putting together a great event.

This week's newsletter is out. A few things I want Arkansans to know:

-UA Fayetteville's appropriation is on the House floor today. I've been public about my opposition since March — a letter, a filed amendment, a committee hearing. I came up short in committee. Today I'm using the appropriations vote to say what I believe: a board that reserves the right to charge students later shouldn't get a rubber stamp from the legislature.

-I also wrote about Amendment 33 — the 1942 constitutional amendment that makes it nearly impossible for the legislature or the governor to hold university boards accountable. It solved a real problem in 1941. In 2026 it's being used as a shield against any oversight at all. That's worth an honest conversation.

-And we're in the final week of session. I broke down what the Revenue Stabilization Act is, what it does, and what a yes vote actually means.
