The mustard tree is very important to me and my recovery. I personally don’t think I would be in the spot that I am in today. I had legal problems that also were costing me financially and I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to afford treatment at insight, but the mustard tree was there to help me actually be able to go through outpatient. I went through out patient once already when I was younger and the fact that they were still able to help me again really made the difference of whether or not I’d be able to receive treatment this time around.

I am eternally grateful for the help and work that the mustard tree does because without them people like me probably wouldn’t be able to really consider great and helpful treatments such as insight. A lot of my friends that I have today also wouldn’t be possible without the mustard tree. It is by the grace of god that they are really there for you when you are struggling to see you through one of the most difficult times of your life.

The Mustard Tree Foundation just gave a scholarship this week!
Inspiring essay: I was reaching out in regards to a possible scholarship opportunity. I was out for a long time pretty much doing every drug under the sun, pills, crack, m**h, codeine etc. It broke me down heavily as a person, I experienced loss of identity, psychosis and a lot of the other negative effects of drugs. I think that insight will work for me this time because out of all the times I have gone and come back it was never for me, it was always for another person, friends, family, the people around me but it was never for me. this past time I went back out. I hit my own low, I did whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. This time I think it's different. I genuinely want it, I am doing it for me not anyone else but truly me.
