Good info for anyone commuting in and around McGinnis Ferry/ south of Halcyon area this weekend!

It’s not within Milton City limits nor is it a City of Milton project, but the closure of McGinnis Ferry Road will certainly affect plenty of our residents this weekend.

McGinnis Ferry (which is what Morris Road, in Milton, becomes as you head east) is set to shut down starting Friday evening. (So, yes, the impact starts before the weekend.) Crews from CW Matthews will be working from that night all through the weekend to install new drainage pipe – a significant undertaking, for sure, that they’ll aim to complete as quickly as possible. McGinnis Ferry Road should reopen by the time of the Monday morning rush hour.

In the meantime, a detour will be set up involving Windward Concourse, Union Hill Road, then back down to Ronald Reagan Boulevard/McGinnis Ferry. So give yourself extra time if heading that way or, just as well, take an alternate route.
