Change rarely announces itself. It shows up in the tenth repetition of a skill that felt impossible the first time, in the session that looked like nothing happened but built on the one before it.

We track this closely, because consistency is doing more work than people realize. The Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care® is built on the understanding that the brain responds to repeated, patterned experience, not a single breakthrough moment. Small moments add up, and they're worth showing up for.

Four questions live underneath almost every conversation we have with a parent.

❤️Am I enough?
❤️Do I belong?
❤️Am I worthy of love?
❤️Am I accepted?

They rarely get said out loud, but they shape how a person shows up in the world.

Amy has spent decades sitting with families while those questions surface, sometimes from a child, sometimes from the parent trying to hold everything together. The Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care® starts from the belief that those questions deserve real answers, grounded in how the brain and the relationships around it actually work.

If you've carried one of these questions, you're not alone in it - and we are here to help ❤️

💛 Staff Spotlight: Nia

For Nia, one of the things that makes The Jacob’s Ladder Group so impactful is our belief that every individual is unique. Each client comes with their own strengths, needs, and abilities, and those differences deserve to be understood and embraced.

Rather than expecting clients to adapt to a single teaching style, Nia values how our providers thoughtfully adjust their approach to meet each person where they are. By caring for the whole person - not just one aspect of their development - we create opportunities for meaningful learning, lasting relationships, and genuine growth.

For Nia, that’s what individualized care is all about: recognizing the unique potential in every person and responding with the support they need to thrive. 💛

☀️ School’s out for the summer! ☀️

As our campus grows a little quieter over the next few weeks, we’re reminded that one of the greatest gifts of Jacob’s Ladder is the incredible community we get to share each day. We’ll miss the laughter, the breakthroughs, the hugs, the curiosity, and the joy our students bring to our campus.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back on Monday, August 3, ready for another year of learning, relationships, and transformation.

Until then… have an amazing summer break! 💙☀️

Success looks different for every child.

For some families, the greatest milestones aren't measured by traditional expectations - they're found in greater independence, stronger communication, and a deeper sense of peace.

When support is built around the individual rather than a predetermined path, children are free to grow in ways that matter most to them and the people who love them.

Every child deserves the opportunity to become the fullest expression of who they are.

💛 Staff Spotlight: Dr. Holly Haynes

As the Executive Director of the Pillar Research Institute and a Harvard graduate, Dr. Holly Haynes has spent years studying, researching, and experiencing organizations around the world. Yet she believes there is something truly extraordinary about The Jacob’s Ladder Group.

Rather than simply explaining it, Holly often invites people to come, see, and experience it for themselves. She believes there is something uniquely special about the culture here - a place where hope is tangible, relationships are genuine, and people consistently leave feeling that they’ve experienced something different.

For Holly, Jacob’s Ladder is one of a kind. It’s a place where science and compassion come together, where purpose is lived out daily, and where hope isn’t just something we talk about - it’s something people can truly feel.

Every child's day is built differently, and that's not a workaround. It's the point.

At The Jacob's Ladder Group, we don't start with a generic schedule and hope a child adapts to it. We start with the child. Their nervous system, their processing style, their unique neurobiological thumbprint, and we build the day around that.

This is what the Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care® actually looks like in practice. Not a template. A structure that fits the person in front of us.

If you're a parent who has tried every planner, every routine chart, every system that worked for someone else's kid and not yours, here's what that actually means. You weren't missing something. The structure was built for a different brain.
