Spend a creative morning at The Living Room Art Gallery, located inside the Visitors Center at Historic St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands. In this guided class, you’ll paint on canvas using acrylics and water-soluble oil paints—blending the abstract shapes of Paul Cézanne with the rich, textured brushwork of Vincent van Gogh.

No experience needed—just bring your creativity!

Our cemetery is the final resting place for countless infants and children who passed in the 19th and early 20th centuries—lives tragically cut short by diseases and infections that, at the time, had no cure.

Little Francis died in 1880, shortly after his first birthday.

It’s deeply moving to see that even after so many years, a child is not forgotten—remembered through the simple, beautiful act of a stranger placing flowers at his resting place.
