A little cabinet education--- Did you know that most cabinets can be divided into 4 categories. Full overlay, inset and partial overlay fall into the framed cabinet category. That means that the front of the cabinet box has a hardwood frame around it and the hinges are attached to that frame. Frameless cabinets don't have a frame around the front. The hinges are in the cabinet sides. Frameless cabinets tend to offer a sleek, modern look. Inset cabinets usually give off a traditional, high-end, custom sort of vibe. Partial overlay isn't really seen as much in new cabinets. Full overlay is really commonly used right now. It offers the seamless look of frameless and the traditional structure that people like.
Kitchen islands are popular, but sometimes they aren't the best option. Homebuilders in the late 90's loved to squeeze them into kitchens that weren't quite wide enough. Sometimes, a peninsula is a better solution! Seeing it in a 3D rendering helps to make the choice clear.
