What to do if the top of your pool is icing over:

We were notified that some people were experiencing freezing of the top layer of pool water. If this occurs with your pool, please break up the ice as soon as possible to prevent the ice from growing and damaging the pool. To prevent the top layer from icing over, add a plastic container (gallon sized milk carton) filled to a third of the way full with pool antifreeze. Make sure the lid is screwed back on before placing the container in the pool. If you don't have pool antifreeze, which is the case for most people, then use water. You can add more than one container, as well. The container{s} should float and they will add movement to the water to fight against freezing.
