Leading your horse shouldn’t be about control. 🚫 Sometimes, horses get overexcited, and when we hold them back, we’re only restraining that energy. Instead of controlling your horse, the first step to helping him relax is to let go. But what if your horse starts to walk off? This is where redirection comes in. Instead of controlling your horse, we redirect their energy into what we call in TRT the ‘space of conversation.’ This space is where the energy from both you and your horse meet in the middle. It’s where your body language, thoughts, and voice align with your horse’s energy, creating better communication and understanding. A horse that is too forward or too disengaged won’t be in this space, making it harder to connect. When both horse and rider are in tune, this space allows for a more meaningful conversation. When your horse gets distracted, how do you bring back his focus?
