Last night, the Paisley Paradise Yurt welcomed the return of guests.
In a gesture that could only be the universe having a chuckle on our account, the evening brought a downpour complete with lightning and thunder.
Nevertheless, the guests -- a lovely mother and daughter -- said they loved "everything" about the yurt. They even did something most guests don't do: They stopped by the house in the morning to tell Elona and Jim thank you, and that they wished they could stay longer.
It was a marvelous return to hosting guests in the Paisley Paradise Yurt, 10 months after another storm all but destroyed the Two Frog Bog. Somehow it feels as if the Universe and all the deities were celebrating with us last night. ⚡️💦 ⚡️
We also want to emphasize that this is thanks to all of you who expressed support verbally and financially, or who physically showed up to help a couple of old farts get the work done. 💜💙💛🧡❤️
If you'd like to visit the yurt yourself, go to Air BnB https://www.airbnb.com/l/fzEvvJON or HipCamp https://www.hipcamp.com/en-US/land/washington-two-frog-bog-qeoh5prr/sites/952754?share_id=2b60smcdi0w&utm_medium=share&utm_source=share_content
to book a stay.
In the meantime, here are a few photos of our final preparations during these past few days.

Hello, everyone!
It's been a while, but we wanted to let you know that the Paisley Paradise Yurt is looking good!
The past couple of months have been spent adding those little touches that will make it an even more special hide-away in the woods. We think it's going to be nicer than ever.
New glass window! Refreshed cabinetry!
And that kitchen floor, frankly, is a work of art. No, really! What looks like vintage vinyl tile is painted! Just wait until you see it. Their live-in volunteer – thank you, Dante! --worked with Elona to paint each individual tile! Elona also used copper-colored Hammerite to paint the “caulking” lines in between the “tiles.”
The biggest addition, though, is a new wood stove! When Elona saw this little stove, she knew it was a perfect upgrade for the yurt.
Like many things Elona loves, it was a bit of a fixer-upper, and fix it up she has. It’s been painted and polished and tuned to perfection. Known as a Comforter Stove, it was manufactured in 1976 by Comforter Stove Works of New Hampshire.
Because it’s made of heavy cast iron, il should last for a very long time. The stove has two doors; one on the side, which you use to add wood. There’s also a door in front that you can open to enjoy that crackling fire.
Jim and Elona hit a small roadblock along the way though – its original 7” stovepipe is no longer a standard size and the cost for it would be around $1,000. While looking into alternatives, they learned that a more standard 8” pipe can be used along with a reducer to match up with the 7” hole in the back of the stove.
They can pull it off for around half of the cost of the 7” pipe, $557 to be exact. Unfortunately, they’ve maxed out their available funds and wonder if there’s anyone out there that would be able to chip in.
That brings us to our current ask: Could you or someone you know be able to chip in $25, 50 or even $100 toward getting a new stovepipe on this great old stove? With that and the other finishing touches that Jim and Elona are working on, the yurt will be back open for business shortly!
And thank you so much for all of your generosity and good thoughts - you got us to this point and we're forever grateful!
