(aka: how to use AI without having a come to Jesus moment with your hairstylist)

We love AI hair inspo.

We also love reality.

So before you fall in love with an AI-generated look, here’s how to keep expectations fun, achievable, and drama-free 💁🏼‍♀️✨

💡 AI IS AMAZING… BUT IT NEEDS RULES

AI doesn’t know: 

• your hair history

• how your hair lifts

• medical history 

• or that hair has laws of physics

If you don’t use very specific prompts, it will absolutely lie to you 😌

📸 STEP 1: START WITH A REAL PHOTO

For best results, use:

✔ natural lighting

✔ no filters

✔ hair down

✔ your current hair

(Yes, even if you miss your 2019 hair—we all do.)

🎨 STEP 2: USE A REALISTIC PROMPT

When you upload your photo, use some or all of the realistic color or haircut prompts I've shared in the photos.

These prompts tell AI to: • keep your actual hair density & texture

• stop adding magical thickness

• avoid filter blondes

• show what’s actually possible in a salon

🚨 THINGS AI LOVES (BUT HAIR DOESN’T)

• ultra-white blondes (if you're not already close to blonde or are looking for a color correction)

• zero warmth ever

• perfect lighting doing half the work

• hair twice as thick as humanly possible

If it looks too perfect… it probably is

The best way to say it:

“I love this vibe—can we translate it to my hair?”
