Synergy is excited to announce our longtime client, Larimer County, CO was successful in overturning $3.5M+ in PPDR funding related to the Cameron Peak Fire through an Arbitration decision. This was the first case in which Section 423 of the Stafford Act and an applicant’s ability to dispute a FEMA determination to The U.S. Civilian Board of Contract Appeals (CBCA) was utilized in the State of Colorado.

Synergy staff, working with great partners, were pivotal in getting the FEMA determination overturned, providing key insight for the arbitration and collecting satisfactory and appropriate data at the time of the debris operations. Not only did the CBCA agree with Larimer County that the PPDR activities were in the general public’s interest, but also agreed that the appeal was submitted in a timely manner.
