A busy evening for the Russell VFD.
On December 4th at 8:56 pm, Russell VFD along with North Warren VFD, Lander VFD, and Glade VFD were dispatched to Cottage Place in Russell for a reported fire in the wall. Initial crews investigated and were able to knock down the fire utilizing water cans. A 1-3/4” handline, seen off of engine 541 in the first photo, was put in service for overhaul. Damage was limited to checking for additional extension and ventilation was completed.
In addition to the fire, members handled two ambulances calls prior to the fire all starting at approximately 3:45 pm
