Nina was dumped at a park in Galveston. I had seen posts over facebook about a dog at a park that had been there for weeks starving and infested with ticks. I drove down to the park with my friend and searched for the dog. When we drove up we saw a sweet lab puppy following a little girl around as if they belonged together. When I tried to approach Nina she quickly bolted off in fear and then went back to the little girl. It took us two hours and the help of the little girls family to get Nina out of the drain pipe that she was hiding in. It's apparent that she has been abused and only trusts children, but for all that she has been through she is still extremely sweet and loving. If only everyone had the ability that Nina has to forgive so easily the world would be a much better place...

I know so many of my wonderful friends rescue animals but how many of you have taken the pledge to buy only cruelty-free products? Each year millions of dogs, rabbits and other animals are painfully tested on in labs across the United States and euthanized once they are deemed no longer useful, very few of these animals ever get to feel the warm sun on their face or the cool grass under their feet. By choosing to not use products that are tested on animals and supporting companies that don't test, you advocate alternatives to animal testing.

I've recently been using the Cruelty Cutter app on my iphone and I absolutely love it. You can scan any item with your phone and it tells you it's cruelty free status.
