Turning off your a/c when you leave the house doesn't actually save you money on your energy bill!

While your a/c unit may not be running, it's when you come back home and turn it on that negates the "energy saving" narrative as the unit will have to work much harder, possibly overtime, to cool down your entire home.

Experts suggests setting your thermostat 5-10 degrees warmer while away from home to help manage your energy costs.

Step 3B: Repair/Replace Wood/Dry Rot! Professional Style

If there is STRUCTURAL damage or ROOF damage BRING IN A PROFESSIONAL! At least that's my recommendation!!!!

Your safety is worth the money to make sure it's done correctly! Do you agree?!?! If yes then, get a professional that will repair the dry rot/damage, repaint or seal, and fix the original problem that allowed the moisture to get into the wood in the first place. This might be anything from a leaky gutter to a leaky roof to leaky plumbing in the wall. I'll go over more causes in another post.

This is where money comes into play if the work is extensive. If you've had a pest inspection done they will usually give you a quote to repair the work. But I recommend you SHOP AROUND! Get a couple quotes from trusted local licensed contractors and then decide who you'd like to use.
