Diabolic Oath should no longer be a mystery to anyone. Across two crushing full-length albums and a handful of short players already under their belt, the Portland, OR, black/death metal legion has established itself as a live killing-machine spectacle truly to behold, and has been proponents of a vanguard aiming to change be***al black/death metal from within.

How and why, you may ask? Try and ask their guitarist, The Temple, who, in a cryptic quest for renovation and innovation, has stripped his guitar of its frets to play an unseen and liquefied version of Blasphemy's or Archgoat's bludgeoning riffs. And it doesn't end there. While more commonly seen around, the bass is fretless too.

The whole formula is both completely unseen and yet adheres to the dogma of the be***al craft through and through, but the result is unlike anything anyone has really heard. This band treads a twilight zone never before seen and has occupied (or self-created?) a niche no one knew existed. And they have just gotten started, and already sound self-crowned in a league entirely their own.
