I’ve photographed most of this city and I thought I understood what Detroit could give a wedding day. Then Marygrove proved me wrong.

I wasn’t prepared for it to feel like this — stone corridors, arched windows, light spilling in the way it does in old European estates. Not a Detroit venue made to look elevated. An actual estate that happens to sit in Detroit.

If you haven’t come across it yet, you’re not alone — it’s one of the city’s quiet gems. After celebrating Steph and Brian’s wedding here, I understand why.
