⚠️ Fraud Awareness Friday: Common Wire Fraud Tactics

Scammers know how to create a sense of urgency, build trust, or appeal to your emotions to convince you to send money before you have time to verify the request.

Recognize the signs of these common fraud schemes:

▪️Romance Scams – Someone you've met online claims to have a medical emergency, travel problem, or financial crisis and asks you to send money to help them.

▪️Investment Scams – You're promised guaranteed or unusually high returns if you send money immediately.

▪️Real Estate Scams – You receive a message claiming your closing or title company has changed its wire instructions.

▪️Government or Business Impersonation – Someone claiming to represent a trusted organization pressures you to wire money to "protect" your funds or avoid criminal charges.

If you're ever asked to send money by wire, take time to verify the request. If you're unsure, contact Team One before sending funds.
