Being part of a community means being able to pick up the phone and call in a favor — and having good people show up when you do. That's exactly what happened this week when Laborers Local 1098 sent three volunteers to help us move large filing cabinets from our Children's Advocacy Center and Prevention Department down to our basement.

Every task like this one, big or small, helps us keep doing what we do for kids and families across Bay, Arenac, Saginaw, and Huron counties.

Thank you, Liuna, for always answering the call. 💙

We had such a lovely afternoon beating the heat and talking all things children's advocacy at our first Coffee with CASAs at Live Oak Coffeehouse in Freeland yesterday! ☕

Curious what it might be like serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate? Want to learn more about CAN Council? Or simply like to get caffeinated with the kindest folks in the land? This is your sign to join us! Next Coffee with CASAs is August 11th at 2pm!

Meet Ava and Olivia Morse — two volunteers who got their start with us through the Blue Box Project, and this past month they went above and beyond!

On their own initiative, they rallied friends and family to pool together some funds, then used their retail employee discounts and summer sales to stretch every dollar. The result? 34 pairs of kids' shoes for our locker, where good shoe options are always in short supply.

This is exactly what we hope happens when someone gets involved with the Blue Box Project — that it sparks something bigger. Thank you, Ava and Olivia, for showing kids in our community that people care. 👟💙💙
