We are one week away from our Member Event! Chuck Meide, our speaker for this event, has been a maritime archaeologist for 30 years and has been the Director of the Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program (LAMP) at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum for 16 years. Hear about his expedition to the Junon, a French frigate warship shipwreck. This was Meide’s second time at the Junon wreck, as he first explored it twenty years ago.

*MEMBERS ONLY* Join us on Tuesday, April 19th at 6:30 PM. RSVP to [email protected] or call Liz at 904-829-0745 ext. 245.

Memorial Park Association is a historic city park located on the north side of the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida. Following World War I, the Rotary Club of Jacksonville created the park to commemorate the Floridians who died in WWI, with a large copper statue serving as a memorial. At the statue’s base, a time capsule was interred on December 24, 1924, containing a scroll with a list of the Florida men and women who lost their lives during the war.

To learn more about the conservation of these scrolls, click the link below to visit our blog.
