🧠⚾ The 15-Minute T-Spine Reset (Daily Throwing Prep)
*Consult a physician before starting any workouts
Elite throwing starts in the middle of the body.
If the thoracic spine can’t rotate or extend, the arm pays the price.
This 15-minute daily routine preps the spine using a Passive → Active → Integration sequence so your body is ready for high-velocity throwing.
🔹 Phase 1: Tissue Prep (0–4 min)
Goal: Unlock stiff segments
Thoracic Foam Roll (Extension)
• 2 minutes
• Pause and breathe at each level
Segmental Cat-Cow
• 2 minutes
• Move one vertebra at a time
🔹 Phase 2: Build Range (4–9 min)
Goal: Improve rotation & extension
Quadruped Lumbar-Locked Rotation
• 2 × 10 reps / side
• Sit hips back, rotate elbow up
Side-Lying Open Books
• 10 reps / side
• Keep knees high to lock the low back
🔹 Phase 3: Active Control (9–12 min)
Goal: Own the new range
Thoracic CARs
• 5 slow circles each direction
• Smooth, controlled movement
Prone Y-T-W Raises
• 8 reps each position
• Squeeze shoulder blades, no rushing
🔹 Phase 4: Baseball Integration (12–15 min)
Goal: Transfer to throwing mechanics
Lunge w/ Rib Cage Rotation
• 8 reps / side
• Hips stable, chest rotates
Wall Slides
• 15 reps
• Back stays flat against the wall
📈 Progression
Weeks 1–2: Slow reps, controlled breathing
Week 3+: Increase speed in Phase 4 to match game intensity
🔑 Key Takeaway
If your T-spine doesn’t rotate, your arm compensates.
Prep the middle → protect the arm → throw harder, longer.

The "Missing Link" in Pitching Velocity ⚾️
If you’re looking for more MPH or trying to keep your arm healthy, you’re probably focused on the legs and the shoulder. But what about the Thoracic Spine?
The T-Spine is the critical bridge in the kinetic chain. Research shows it accounts for 30-50% of total trunk rotation during a pitch. If this area is locked up: 1️⃣ Your arm "drags" behind your body. 2️⃣ You lose hip-shoulder separation. 3️⃣ Your elbow and shoulder take the "blame" (and the injury).
The Standard: Can you hit 45° of rotation in a lumbar-locked position? If not, you’re leaving velocity on the table.

If you aren’t tracking it, you aren’t mastering it. ⚾️📝
Most players spend hours in the cage but zero minutes on their mental approach. The physical gap in college ball is tiny—the mental gap is a canyon.
Elite players don't just "play" the game; they study it. Journaling is your personal scouting report on the most important player on the field: YOU.
What to track after every game:
✅ Your "Process" vs. your "Results"
✅ Pitcher tendencies & sequence patterns
✅ The 3-2-1 Reset Method
Stop guessing why you’re in a slump. Start recording your rise.

The "Science of the Transfer" (Pop Time)
This post focuses on speed, using the action shot of the ball in flight to talk about quickness.
Shaving Tenths: The Art of the Transfer ⚡️
A 1.9 pop-time isn't just about a "cannon" arm; it’s about what happens in the first 0.5 seconds after the ball hits the mitt.
The Exchange: Don't reach for the ball. Let the ball come to your "power alley" (chest/ear area).
Replacement Feet: Speed up your release by replacing your lead foot with your back foot in one explosive motion.
Grip: Finding the four-seam grip happens in the glove, not in the air.

Lessons from the 60-HR King: Cal Raleigh ⚾️
They call him "Big Dumper," but the real weight he’s carrying is the entire history of the catcher position on his back. Cal Raleigh’s 2025 season was a masterclass in preparation and perseverance.
To catch 100+ innings and still have the leg strength and mental focus to launch 60 home runs requires a "Champion" mindset.
Success isn't just about the physical tools; it's about the work done when nobody is watching.
