Lighthouse Recovery

Today we got a chance to witness a tangible result of the recovery process. Porfirio started in our jail program almost 4 years ago and was released into our post-incarceration support programming 2 years ago. He started his own catering business, he gives back by working in the jail teaching a chefs class to our current detainees, and he’s back to being an amazing father to his three kids and a wonderful husband. And because of Porfirios incredible commitment to this process, the States Attorney dismissed all of his cases today. He is free, he is in recovery, he is the reason we keep doing this work. Congratulations Porfirio Roman, you deserve all the good things, you are where you dreamed of being 4 years ago.

Shoutout to the members of Lighthouse who came out to our Sober Paint & Sip! We had a good time with music and snacks and our guest painter Jennifer! As you know it is not always easy to find activities where substances are not present, but when you are connected to a community that knows just how difficult that struggle can be then we can build something.
