Acts 16:30-31 Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe.
Ever since the “easy believism” message began with evangelists like Billy Graham and David Wilkerson, people have been (Chuck) Swindolled out of full salvation (John 3:16, Acts 2:38). Some teach like Norman Vincent Peale’s book, “Power of Positive Thinking”. Adlai Stevenson said, “As a Christian I find Paul appealing and Peale appalling”. It takes more than faith in God! It takes the Grace of God to help us overcome sin by repenting, being baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit! When my home church pastor was deceived in the 90s, one ABC member begged the church to keep repentance in the bylaws, to no avail. Acts 16 says, “prove your faith”. Paul was beaten but baptized the jailer’s family at night just hours after he taught them the Word of God. Why? Because water baptism in Jesus’ Name washes sins away (Acts 22:16), not just believing. (Acts 11:14-17; 15:7-9) Jesus said, “Why do you call me Lord (believe) and don’t do what I say?” (Luke 6:46) Most would say, “After my back is healed”. Our OIKOS deserve to know the Sinner’s Prayer is only step one. Doctrine may not be popular, but I “believe” it is our anchor!

King or Husband?
Esther 1:17b …they shall despise their husbands
Husbands have a responsibility to protect their wives. Adam didn’t when Eve was tempted and he was right there with her and said nothing! He could’ve corrected her misquote when Eve added “don’t touch” to “don’t eat” (Genesis 3:3 says fruit, not apple). But some men believe their own bravado. There is no humility there! So after 140 days of partying and seven days of drinking with his buds, the KING demanded his wife to give a little private show for his friends. He didn’t even ask her himself! He sent a servant. She said “NO”! Although she was the Queen, it wasn’t THAT role he asked her to perform. The King over stepped into the Husband role and past privacy to get his way. Big No-No! Husbands? Guard your precious wife. She is a gift from God to you. Spend 25% of the time, money and energy NOW that you spent while courting her and you then can display the saying, “Happy Wife, Happy Life”! The Windy Whirlwind
Hosea 8:7a For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: When leaders transgress, followers transgress more. The slide downward is much easier than to climb up to righteous living. All people should see the climb as good exercise as this is popular today – get in shape and stay there! That’s living for God… get to know Jesus and maintain a good relationship with Him. If I speak a negative thing to my wife or family, it can be the first of negative statements bantered about. Whatever I sow, I will reap. Gal 6:7-9. It’s popular to call it Karma, which started about 1500 BC, the same time of Moses’ law. But 2500 yrs before Karma, God told Cain in Gen 4:7, “If you do well, you will be accepted, if you don’t, sin lies at the door”.
People laugh as they are blown over when a jet takes off on Island of St. Martin. Fun! But there is a street curb there and some have hit their heads! Not fun. Be careful out there in that wind! God bless you!
