When nurses speak up together, they create change! After months of raising concerns about conditions in their operating room, Methodist OR nurses built overwhelming support from their colleagues and delivered a vote of no confidence in hospital management.

When nurses went to deliver their letter to management, they avoided meeting with them directly. Instead nurses delivered their letter to the Chief Nursing Officer’s secretary. Following nurses’ march on the boss, hospital leadership committed to listening sessions with nurses to hear concerns. When nurses have a voice on the job, they push for the changes needed to improve patient care and strengthen their workplaces

BREAKING: Nurses at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in Center City have voted to authorize an Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) strike following more than a year of negotiations without meaningful progress toward a fair first contract.

Nurses issued a legally required ULP strike notice to Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation on Thursday. This action follows repeated unfair labor practices, including unilateral changes to working conditions without bargaining with the union and disparate treatment related to protected union activity, undermining their rights and the collective bargaining process. The decision to go out on a ULP strike was not taken lightly, but nurses are united in holding the employer accountable.
