I had the opportunity to attend a wildfire initial attack community meeting at the Upper McKenzie Community Center. I always appreciate hearing what is on the minds of people as wildfire season approaches and discussing ways I can help. The future use of drones was discussed as well as how community members can assist each other in times of need. I highly encourage community members to attend future meetings:

April 13th: Prescribed Burning and Fire Levels during fire season at the Leaburg Fire Station from 1pm-3pm
May 7th: Evacuation and Extended Fire Attack at McKenzie HS from 6pm-8pm
June 11th: Prepare for Fire, Defensible Space, at the Leaburg Fire Station from 6pm-8pm
