And another intern spotlight!

This week, we're featuring one of our OG Fresh interns, Catherine Twomey, who held down the fort in our very first Salem office!

Cat is a badass designer and screen printer with a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She's currently freelancing and busy creating really cool stuff.

Q: What was it like to intern at Fresh?

A: "Fresh was a very causal but energetic environment to work in. It allowed for me to work closely with different members of the team everyday. Not only was there always a dog or two hanging around, but it always felt like you were among friends who wanted to have fun at work.

Having that kind of closely knit, laid back environment definitely made it easier to learn and ask questions. I also loved how the internship was geared at multiple facets, such as design, reaching out prospective clients, or working on social media.

Coming from a fine art background, my time at Fresh was super valuable in laying groundwork into how I could transition and use my skills digitally, which I am still doing today."

Waring School’s Wolfpack Machina Robotics Team WINS FIRST Tech Challenge World Championships! 🙌

Fresh is a super proud sponsor of this team of amazing kids. FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is a high school robotics competition where students design, build, and program robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. Wolfpack Machina came out on top of almost 200 teams at Worlds.

Don’t mind us while we brag a bit about them. This team has accomplished so much in the past three years while giving back to the community. The list is long, but a few examples include:

-Won 10 awards in the 2022/23 competition season
-Spent 1400 hours on community outreach since last season
-Currently mentor 3 middle school robotics teams at Waring
-Introduced robotics to underserved communities locally as well
as globally. Senior Amelia Wyler started an FLL (First Lego
League) in Rwanda
-Organized/attended over 100 community outreach events this
season

The future is bright for this young, creative, and technical crew. We can’t wait to see what awesome things they do next!
