One man. One film. Many stories. And tornadoes. We used to have 3 channels on television, and one played a cowbell whenever there was a storm watch or warning.

The jet stream this week will be relatively zonal, and reside across the northern tier of the country, until next weekend. Then on Saturday a significant system will come ashore in the Pacific Northwest and distrupt that flow, amplifying the jet. This will set the stage for more organized severe storms across the northern plains by Sunday into early next week.
But before then, isolated severe storms are expected from the mid-atlantic and Great Lakes through the Midwest and to the Front Range. The next few days an upslope flow in the central Rockies will coincide with a decent mid level flow and orographic lifting with surface based moisture to produce severe storms and tornadoes there. This will be especially true from the high plains of Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas.
Elsewhere, heavy rains and isolated severe storms will be possible from the Upper Midwest, through the Midwest and to the East Coast. It will be warmer than normal over Florida, Quebec, British Columbia and parts of the Southwest.
Cooler than normal conditions are expected across the Eastern Rockies and Upper Midwest to the Western Great Lakes.
It should be largely sunny from Texas into the Southwest toward the Central and Southern Pacific Coast. The one exception is over much of Utah, which is dealing with wildfire smoke from wildfires in Utah and Nevada.

The thunderstorm in the radar pic has an ongoing tornado and headed our way, eventually. While we are only in a flood watch-Mulberry will flood the fields tomorrow-we could see an extension of the nearby tornado watch.
