Allen Berg Racing Schools

Just experienced Allen Berg Driving School OnRoad Courses Training/Certification as sponsored by my employer. It was a group from work attending the event, w/ double digit participants. Allen Berg instructed us w/ both a classroom portion as well as behind the wheel training. Along w/ Allen was his team including Matt, Nick, Kiara, and Spald.Matt was a supportive instructor who was teaching traction recovery around a corner. He encouraged the good habits while pointing out bad habits and how to address them. In example, instead of letting the turn take the rear (body roll+momentum+0% traction sim.tires). I was instinctually “turning into the turn” to initiate the rear ends loss of traction. Which forced a counter steer that required ‘quick hands’ to counter. That was the tell, quick hands; extra input creates extra output. My best CPRs (counter-steer pause recovery) were when I let the curve of the turn loosen up the rear end while providing minimal input. Just enough to counter while resisting stepping on gas/brake until the recovery portion. The most important thing I got to experience was losing traction at as slow a speed as 18mph. The body roll is enough to initiate the loss of traction, its recovery seems to be smoother. Compared to coming into the turn hot or tight (which would require extra counter steer input, which required more reaction w/ less time).We learned about ABS (antilock braking system) and equally how it truly feels to appropriately activate it +
