Our team installed this brand new recycled asphalt driveway this past week in Landis North Carolina. First we measured and painted an outline of the new driveway on the grass. Next we removed the grass, it’s roots, and all the topsoil within our painted outline. We then imported, spread, and compacted bass material to provide a solid foundation to lay the new driveway on. Finally we spread the screened recycled asphalt and rolled it in with our smooth drum vibratory roller. These driveways can be driven on the same day they are installed but most of our clients choose to give them some time before they start using them. Once the sun evaporates the natural moisture the surface of the driveway will all be the same color. This driveway will last for many years and will not require annual maintenance like gravel does.

At Universal Development we believe that screened recycled asphalt is one of the best driveway materials to utilize when concrete or hot asphalt is not in the budget. Screened recycled asphalt is comparable in coast to gravel, however unlike gravel RECYCLED ASPHALT IS NOT DUSTY! This makes it our preferred choice for driveways in this region where we tend to have hot dry summers. After properly compacted with a vibratory roller screened recycled asphalt has a beautiful, smooth, black aesthetic very similar in appearance to hot asphalt.
