Meet Nils, our Stanback Habitat Enhancement Fellow from Duke University! 🌲
When Nils accepted this internship, he thought he'd be spending the summer making maps.
One month later, he's participated in a prescribed burn, sprayed invasive species, learned to operate a mini bulldozer, and painted property lines through the woods! But don't worry, he's still making maps too.
From fire and forestry to mapping and machinery, every week has brought something new. We're excited to have Nils on the team this summer and have been nothing but impressed by his positive attitude and determination to get the job done on hot and humid days!

Behind every conservation success is a community that made it possible.
Every conserved acre and every conservation success begins with people who care enough to get involved.
Riverdance brings that community together for one special evening each year.
Join us on August 22 and celebrate the people, places, and partnerships that make conservation possible.

No filter!
This toad stopped the TRLT team in their tracks during a recent day in the field. While most toads are shades of brown, gray, or tan, some individuals can display vibrant reddish coloration.
This one was among the reddest we've ever encountered!
Color variation like this occurs naturally and can be influenced by genetics, habitat, and environmental conditions.
Have you ever seen a toad this red?
