Isenberg families,

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Eden Sloop to our Gator family as our new Assistant Principal!

Mrs. Sloop brings a wealth of experience from Rowan-Salisbury Schools, including service as an elementary music teacher, Instructional Technology Facilitator, and most recently, Assistant Principal at Salisbury High School. She is excited to return to the elementary setting and begin building relationships with our students, staff, and families. Please take a moment to read a special message from Mrs. Sloop:

"Hello! My name is Mrs. Eden Sloop. I am a wife and mother with a passion for education and helping students succeed. I began my career with Rowan-Salisbury Schools as an elementary music teacher, where I taught for 10 years before transitioning to the high school level as an Instructional Technology Facilitator. I was later promoted to Assistant Principal at Salisbury High School and have proudly served in that role for the past four years. Outside of work, I love all things music—playing, singing, listening, and attending concerts. I also enjoy spending time with my family and animals. I am excited to return to the elementary setting and look forward to joining the Isenberg Elementary family and serving the students, staff, and community of IES!"

We are excited for Mrs. Sloop to begin with us very soon!

Dear Isenberg Families,

We are excited to celebrate the end of the school year with our upcoming End-of-Year (EOY) Ceremonies! You should have already received information from your child’s teacher. In case you missed it....EOY ceremonies will take place this Friday and next Tuesday. Check the picture for the grade level specific times.

As a reminder:
• Families are invited to attend the scheduled ceremony times.
• No volunteer form or background check is required to attend EOY ceremonies.
• Some teachers may choose to have additional classroom celebrations; however, those are for students only.

We look forward to celebrating our students and all of their hard work this year with you! If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

We love Mrs. Restrepo!!

During Teacher Appreciation Week, we proudly celebrate the dedication, passion, and hard work of educators like Zeila Kathrine Restrepo Bolívar, whose commitment to the field of education continues to serve as a source of inspiration for future generations.

Zeila currently serves as a Kindergarten Dual Language Immersion Spanish teacher at Isenberg Elementary in Rowan County. Originally from Medellín, Colombia, Zeila brings an essential passion to the classroom, one that helps to foster “bilingualism and biliteracy in young learners while helping them build a strong academic and cultural foundation
for lifelong learning”. Zeila holds a bachelor's degree in Basic Education with an emphasis in Humanities and English as a Foreign Language, as well as a master's degree in Psychological Intervention in Development and Education. She has over 15 years of experience in education and has taught a variety of grade levels including elementary and university aged students.

Zeila believes that “being a teacher is embarking on an adventure”, an adventure that she sees as a vocation. When asked what she loves most about her role as an educator, Zeila's response was “everything that comes with the journey, building meaningful connections with my students, getting to know them as individuals, and working as a team with their families to support their growth… I strive to extend learning beyond the classroom by bringing a global perspective into everything I do. I truly believe I may be teaching future leaders, students who will grow with curiosity about the world”. She was inspired to become a teacher by her mother, from whom she learned that “when you truly love what you do, that comes from the heart and can be shared with others… the seed my mother planted in me continues to grow, and I strive every day to carry on her legacy by being the best teacher I can be, in honor of her”.
