Back in Idaho this weekend and ready for another shot at Motorplex at the Mill.

June 13th, 2026 Las Vegas, Nevada - Only Bulls Open Wheel Showdown promoter Davey Hamilton Jr. today announced that he has extended his agreement with Las Vegas Motor Speedway, extending the current contract through 2028.

Today's official announcement ensures the Open Wheel Showdown will remain the exclusive Pavement Sprint Car event at LVMS.

The Open Wheel Showdown debuted at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2023. Since then, it has established itself as the richest pavement sprint car event in the entire world. The annual event features a winged pavement sprint event that pays the winner $50,000 each fall.

"We're excited for today's extension announcement with Davey Hamilton Jr. and the Open Wheel Showdown," said Patrick Lindsey, GM of LVMS. "What began as an addition to our schedule has grown into a tremendous partnership. The Open Wheel Showdown has become a highlight of our racing calendar, and we're excited to welcome the series back for years to come as we continue to grow this successful relationship."

Today's announcement guarantees that the event can continue to call LVMS home through at least 2028. It will provide the event with stability and allow Hamilton Jr. to continue growing it.

"This is something that was in the works since our 2026 date announcement," explained Hamilton Jr." To continue our relationship with LVMS and have the future set in stone is great for the growth of the event, our partners and teams. Now everyone can have this event to look forward to for many years to come."

Hamilton Jr. already made headlines with the event earlier in the year when he announced the addition of a $10,000 to win non-winged sprint car event as part of this year's November 5-7 event along with raising the Super Modifieds and Open Wheel Modifieds purses to $10,000 to win. Between the winged and non-winged sprint car classes, well over 100 total sprint cars are entered for this year's event. With almost 300 entries total across all classes.

In addition to Winged Sprint Cars, this year's event will also include Non-Wing Sprintcars, Super Modifieds, Modifieds, Legends, and Bandoleros, with a total purse of well over $250,000.

What a HOT weekend in Las Vegas! The temperatures were brutal, the sweat was flowing, and the swimming pool got plenty of use between races just to stay cool. We finished both nights in 10th place and loaded the car in one piece, which is always a win.

Just like that, another Bullring season is almost in the books for us. We won’t be attending the final race of the season, but we’ll be back in October when the next Bullring season begins.

While the results this year weren’t always what we hoped for, this season gave us so much more than finishing positions. We made memories, built friendships, learned lessons, and spent another season doing what we love at a track that has become a second home to us.

A huge thank you to Joey, Kevin, Brad, and everyone at the Bullring. Thank you for always being welcoming, supportive, and making us feel like family every time we pull through the gates.

To all of the Bandolero drivers and families, thank you for the laughs, the competition, the friendships, and the memories. Racing may bring us together, but it’s the people that keep us coming back.

Now it’s time to shift our focus to Idaho and spend the summer racing at Motorplex at the Mill. We’re excited for what’s ahead, but we’re already looking forward to being back at the Bullring this October and seeing our Vegas racing family again.
