“HORSE RACING doesn’t seem to be suffering any kind of depression. The bangtails were running in lots of places during last week’s holiday. This happened to be in Brady, Tex., where the July 4 crowd of more than 6000 broke all previous records and far outstripped the seating capacity.”

We've been working on something a little different.

Voices of the Land is a new video series from Livestock Weekly and the National Grazing Lands Coalition — and today we're releasing the first episode on Livestock Weekly’s YouTube page.

We spent a day out with Isa Beefmasters in Schleicher County this past March. It was dry, it was windy, and the cattle were making sure we knew they were there. Lorenzo Lasater, Beau Lasater, and Ranch Foreman Todd Bannert talked openly about their operation, their genetics program, and what it means to carry on a legacy that goes back generations in the Beefmaster breed.

We hope to keep making videos like this one. Agriculture is full of stories that don't get told the way they deserve to be. We're going to do our best to change that, one producer at a time.

A special thank you to Haley Goodwiler with the National Grazing Lands Coalition for producing this first episode. She did an outstanding job bringing this vision to life, and we're grateful to have her as a partner on this project.
