Neighbors in full effect! The community came out today and supported the Midway Shelter!
Because now more than ever, we come together to be in community.

1,796 registered runners!

The 2026 Alameda 4th of July 5K RACE was a success, with a portion of each runner registration going to help fund every day expenses for Midway 24/7/365!
The shelter provides 25 beds for women and children without homes. The Alameda Homeless Network (midwayshelter.org) raises funds to keep the shelter going strong, all year long. Building Futures operates the shelter, providing beds, food, case management, and much more. Community support brings new beginnings to women and children in Alameda!

Coupons in 2026? Yes, please! Meet Nicole, who clipped coupons, scored an amazing deal on shampoo, and turned those savings into kindness. She donated 30 bottles of shampoo, 60 toothbrushes from her dentist, and even more hygiene goodies from a local business. Thank you, Nicole, for thinking of the women, kids and individuals we serve! Right here in San Leandro, our neighbors really do rock!
