Our Day of the Seafarer celebration continues with a special thank you to the officers and crews aboard Cape Wrath and Cape Washington for their dedication and service.
While many know Pasha Hawaii for our service between the Mainland and Hawaii, our team also provides technical, operational, and crew management services for vessels owned by the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) and other shipping companies. Through these partnerships, Pasha Hawaii supports national defense readiness, commercial cargo transportation, and global maritime operations.
Cape Wrath and Cape Washington are sister ships in the Ready Reserve Force Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro/Ro) fleet, layberthed at the Port of Baltimore and maintained in a constant state of readiness to support the nation when called upon. Their officers and crews play a critical role in ensuring these vessels are prepared to activate on short notice, providing critical support for military operations, humanitarian response efforts, and emergency sealift missions around the world.
Today, we extend our sincere mahalo to the officers and crews of Cape Wrath and Cape Washington. Your professionalism, commitment, and readiness help strengthen our nation's maritime capabilities every day, and we are grateful for all you do.

As we continue our Day of the Seafarer series, we're proud to spotlight the officers and crew aboard the MV George II and recognize a special milestone aboard the vessel. Six women currently serve aboard the ship across all three shipboard departments: deck, engine, and steward.
Renamed in honor of George Pasha II, who founded our family-owned company nearly 80 years ago, the MV George II reflects a legacy of service, reliability, and innovation while helping keep Hawaii connected to the Mainland through the delivery of the goods island communities depend on every day.
After undergoing a groundbreaking repower, the MV George II reentered service in 2024 as the world's first steam-to-LNG conversion. Formerly the Horizon Reliance, the container ship now operates on LNG and represents a major step forward in sustainable shipping and cleaner port communities. The conversion preserved the existing hull, saving 15,000 metric tons of steel and related CO₂ emissions while increasing 40-foot refrigerated container capacity by 110%.
These mariners exemplify the professionalism, teamwork, commitment, and sacrifice that keep our vessels operating safely and efficiently. To the officers and crew of the MV George II, thank you for all you do to support Hawaii's communities and keep commerce moving.

Marking day three of our Day of the Seafarer celebration, we're proud to recognize our dedicated officers and crew aboard MV George III for the important role they play in serving Hawaii.
Named after George Pasha, III, the late son of company founder George Pasha, II, this vessel was constructed to honor his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to community stewardship. George III entered service in 2022 as the first of two 'Ohana Class container ships built for Pasha Hawaii. Designed specifically for the Hawaii trade, the vessel carries forward his legacy while representing a major investment in the future of maritime transportation.
George III made maritime history as the first LNG-powered container ship built in the U.S. to serve Hawaii and the first LNG-powered container ship to call the Bay Area. Operating on LNG from day one, the Jones Act vessel surpasses IMO 2030 emission standards and is among the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly vessels serving Hawaii. In addition to its lower-emission fuel, the vessel achieves greater energy efficiency through a state-of-the-art engine, optimized hull form, and advanced underwater propulsion system featuring a high-efficiency rudder and propeller.
Beyond her environmental achievements, George III and her crew play a critical role in delivering the goods Hawaii's communities depend on every day. Carrying containers filled with essential goods, retail products, and building materials, the vessel keeps island businesses supplied and families connected to the products they rely on.
Today, we mahalo our officers and crew of the George III, and seafarers everywhere for their dedication, professionalism, service, and sacrifice.
