“Surrounded by moats of water the figures in my recent work seem protected but isolated, much as I have felt since the beginning of the pandemic. Their bodies appear to be part fortress part reliquary and are marked with the effects of climate change. They also show evidence of a battle between science and superstition.

Not only humans are affected by this global upheaval but animals flee their barns and seek higher ground, strange hybrid creatures emerge (watch out for Pizzly bears!) and the landscape is damaged by extremes of fire or flood.

Keys hint at a cure but the protagonists must choose carefully what to unlock and who to let in.” Restless Garden by
