Who takes off the tongue on their mobile jobs?
I started a few years ago and I do it every time now. It only takes about 3-5 mins.

A nice setup on this mobile job. This rancher got us set up in the hay barn the week before they fill it for the year. After 700 hours on the mill with mobile jobs this is the first time we’ve been invited inside!

Got the band back together after taking several months off to do some more kid raising. The band got a new roadie/support vehicle too, makes multi day mobile jobs a bit more interesting.

Didn’t get much of any rest after finishing a big project last week. Been cleaning up the log yard, doing some deferred maintenance, milling several timber orders and we even fit in a 40’x80’ shop foundation dig for a client that we’ll be milling them a full framing package from logs they’ll proved us in the near future.

Ten months of planning, designing, sourcing logs from several local loggers, milling over 4,000 bdft of lumber & timber, more planning, timber framing the trestle style bents in our log yard and then a 6.5 day install at the site with a great local construction crew and we’re done with this Design, Mill, Build project.
Time to take a breath and then go make some more sawdust for the next project.

Design it, mill it and build it!

The project commenced in the fall with the initial concept and design, which underwent refinement throughout the winter and early spring. Logs for the timbers was sourced from two local loggers and milled in the spring to create the necessary components. Subsequently, site work was completed, and concrete footers were poured. After allowing the concrete footers to cure and finalizing additional details, we are now gearing up to form and pour stem walls this week, with the timber installation scheduled for the upcoming weeks. To streamline the timber installation process, we have enlisted the assistance of a local home builder to provide additional manpower and skilled labor.
Behind the scenes, there are numerous hours dedicated to the design and planning of a project of this magnitude, often surpassing the physical work involved. This includes engineering considerations for snow load and meticulous planning to ensure the construction of a timber structure that will endure the test of time.
