USA gets gold! The epitome of team effort and proud American moment. Go Team USA!

He had a few teeth knocked out by an opponent’s hockey stick in the third period of yesterday’s gold medal hockey game at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

He left his teeth on the ice, spit blood into a towel, went back on the ice and scored the game winning goal in overtime to lead Team USA to a 2-1 win over Canada.
The win gave Team USA its first men’s hockey gold medal since the Miracle On Ice in 1980.

Only 24 years old, Jack Hughes was still bleeding when in his postgame interview he said this:

"It's all about our country right now. I love the USA, I love my teammates- it's unbelievable.

“The USA hockey brotherhood is so strong and we had so much support.
I'm so proud to be American today."

My heart is full of pride as I write about Jack Hughes, goalie Connor Hellebuyck and the United States Olympic athletes.

Proud American athletes are just what we needed to unify a divided country.
